Chieko Tanabe joined ERIA in February 2026 as a Programme Manager for the Startup Ecosystem.
Since 2010, she has worked for JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization), a trade and investment promotion organisation of the Japanese government, in various capacities, including her previous role at JETRO Osaka. Her responsibilities included supporting overseas start-ups entering the Japanese market and promoting collaboration between Japanese companies and overseas start-ups by organising international conferences and events, providing consultancy services, and facilitating business connections.
