ERIA and Türkiye Explore Regional Priorities and Future Collaboration during Courtesy Call

Jakarta, 22 May 2026: ERIA President Tetsuya Watanabe received a courtesy call from H.E. Prof. Dr Talip Küçükcan, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Indonesia, Timor-Leste, and ASEAN, at the ERIA Office in Jakarta.

The meeting provided an opportunity for both parties to exchange views on regional and global developments and explore areas of shared interest between ERIA and Türkiye. As an important sectoral dialogue partner of ASEAN, Türkiye continues to play an increasingly active role in engaging with the region on economic and strategic issues.

President Watanabe shared ERIA’s current priorities, including strengthening ASEAN’s economic resilience and supporting practical policy co-operation on emerging cross-cutting challenges such as energy security, industrial development, and digital transformation.

Both sides also explored potential avenues for collaboration between ERIA and Türkiye, particularly in areas of mutual interest that could contribute to deeper regional co-operation, policy exchange, and practical engagement between ASEAN and its external partners.
