The AZEC Progress Report 2025 aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the progress made to date in advancing sectoral initiatives and enabling mechanisms in the AZEC partner countries. Guided by the AZEC principles of a 'triple breakthrough' and 'one goal, various pathways, ' it captures both the diversity of national strategies and the commitment of regional co-operation.
The report highlights three initiatives: AZEC Zero Emission Power Initiative, AZEC Sustainable Fuel Initiative, and AZEC Next-Generation Industry Initiative, supported by Market Enablers such as transition finance and carbon markets. These pillars reflect the region's effort to move forward while respecting different national contexts.
Yet, common challenges remain: growing energy demand, reliance on fossil fuels, the need for stronger grids, and gaps in investment. The report underlines the role of AZEC which serves as a platform for countries to share knowledge, address barriers collectively, and build an inclusive and sustainable future.
