ERIA publishes a wide range of materials – including books, research project reports, discussion papers, and policy briefs – to disseminate its research findings and policy recommendations to policymakers, scholars, and practitioners across the region.
A significant share of these publications focused on Energy Transition and Decarbonisation, the largest thematic cluster. Research covered long-term decarbonisation pathways for ASEAN’s energy systems through 2060, as well as the roles of hydrogen, ammonia, and bioenergy. Country-level studies on Viet Nam and Indonesia provided detailed transition pathways. The Asia Zero Emission Community (AZEC) initiative contributed research on bioenergy supply chains, carbon pricing, heat pump adoption, and energy system cybersecurity.
In the area of Digital Economy and Technology, ERIA advanced work linked to the ASEAN Digital Economy Framework Agreement (DEFA) and ASEAN Digital Community 2045. Publications addressed data governance, open data, artificial intelligence (AI), space technology, and digital supply chains. The E-DISC centre produced applied research on AI applications in agriculture and healthcare, highlighting practical digital innovation.
The Trade, Investment, and Economic Integration cluster explored regional and global trade dynamics, including ASEAN production fragmentation, WTO reform, and post-2025 ASEAN Economic Community priorities. Additional studies examined MSME financing, fintech, industrial parks, and ASEAN–Japan partnerships, alongside emerging issues such as cross-border data flows and central bank digital currencies (CBDCs).
Under Sustainable Development, Agriculture, and Environment, ERIA published work on sustainable agriculture, food systems, climate resilience, circular economy practices, and carbon markets. Topics included EV adoption, plastics policy, and resource nexus issues.
Finally, research on Health, Society, and Human Capital expanded further, covering One Health issues, AI in healthcare, demographic trends, and workforce development, alongside sector-specific studies in Indonesia.
Overall, in Fiscal Year 2025 (April 2025–March 2026), ERIA produced a total of 82 titles, comprising three books, 45 research project reports, 11 discussion papers, and 23 policy briefs.
