ASEAN Country Coordinators, experts, and development partners convened in Bangkok, Rayong, and Chonburi Provinces, Thailand, from 8–11 September 2025 to develop the Regional Action Plan (RAP) on Active Ageing. The workshop focused on identifying and prioritising activities under the four thematic pillars of the ACAI Five-year Strategic Plan: health; economic and financial security; social participation; and age-friendly environments. The discussions fostered a shared understanding of regional priorities and generated concrete recommendations to inform the drafting of the RAP. Field visits to Rayong and Chonburi highlighted practical innovations in community-based long-term care and technology-enabled ageing services.

The process continued at the Country Coordinator Knowledge Exchange and Training held in Narita, Japan, in late October 2025, helping to ensure that the RAP reflects the diverse contexts and aspirations of ASEAN Member States. A preliminary version of the RAP will be presented at the Prince Mahidol Award Conference (PMAC) 2026 in Bangkok for peer review and further refinement, ahead of its final adoption.
